EARTHQUAKE RELIEF & RECOVERY MISSION

On August 10, 2026, a devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, with its epicenter near San José del Palmar, Chocó. The earthquake caused catastrophic destruction across several regions of the country, particularly in Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, Chocó, Caldas, and Quindío.

According to the latest reported national figures:

• 331 people have lost their lives
 • 4,505 people have been injured
 • 111 people remain missing
 • 466,709 people have been affected
 • 498 municipalities in 16 departments have reported damage
 • 36,326 homes have been destroyed
 • 202,002 homes have been damaged
 • 743 buildings have collapsed

This is not only a time to remember Colombia in our prayers—it is a time to stand with families, children, and communities who are facing the difficult road of recovery and reconstruction.

❤️ OUR SPECIAL APPEAL

We are particularly seeking support for the Instituto para Niños Ciegos y Sordos del Valle del Cauca, an institution dedicated to providing health, rehabilitation, education, and comprehensive care for children who are blind or deaf.

The Institute has established an official earthquake-recovery effort to help restore its facilities and continue serving the children and families who depend on its programs.

World Mission Go is partnering in this effort and will direct 100% of the resources raised through this campaign toward the reconstruction and temporary care and support of the children served by the foundation.
