Hoarding Dogs Medical Care Fundraiser

On September 27th, we welcomed Joey, Warlock, Genie, and Petra; four young hound mix dogs from Oklahoma.

Their home in Oklahoma also was home to 29 other dogs, all living in deplorable conditions. All the dogs were malnourished and had several medical problems. One Day Rescue in Oklahoma took in all 33 dogs and started treating them all for a skin condition and started feeding them healthy balanced meals. Thirteen of the dogs were sent to Wisconsin, four of which came to us.

Upon arrival, we found Joey, Warlock, Genie, and Petra to be very scared and mentally shut down. They do not know how to act like a normal dog. These poor pups are used to laying in mud and feces, having no toys to play with, and fighting for small scraps of food. Now they have warm beds to lie in, plenty of toys to play with, a well-balanced diet, endless treats, and more love than any dog could imagine.

Joey and Warlock are starting to warm up to people already. Genie and Petra are still learning to trust us, but that is okay we will give them all the time they need!  We are working with all four of them to help them learn how to be a dog and making sure they receive all the medical attention they need!

Joey, Warlock, Genie, and Petra have a long road ahead of them before they will be ready for adoption, as they will need ongoing medical care and ideally spend time in an experienced foster home where they can build up their confidence and learn that being a dog is great and will be filled with lots of fun and love!

We are hoping that you can help Joey, Warlock, Genie, and Petra by donating to their medical care fundraiser.  We do have some very exciting news; a supporter of EBHS has graciously agreed to match up to $2,500 for their care!  So every dollar you donate will be doubled!

The cost of medical expenses for these four pups is estimated at $5,750.  With the generous matching funds of $2,500 we are hoping we can all come together to help raise the additional funds Joey, Warlock, Genie, and Petra need for their care-can you please help us achieve a long, happy life for these resilient, wonderful dogs?
