Monica Thomas is fighting for her life. In 2014, she was diagnosed with COPD. Her health has deteriorated, and she now requires the use of an oxygen tank to help her breathe. Doctors say a lung transplant is critical to her survival.

Unfortunately, Monica's hope for a new life comes at a very high price. The average lung transplant costs more than $785,000 and that's only the beginning. Even with health insurance, which will cover most of the cost of the transplant, she faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they're as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.

How you can help. The National Foundation for Transplants is working with volunteers and supporters to help relieve the growing burden of transplant related expenses for Monica. National Foundation for Transplants have been assisting patients with advocacy and fundraising support for more than 37 years. Your gift—of $25, $50, $100 or more—will enable the foundation to provide Monica with the financial support she desperately needs.
