Send Montclair to Henley 2018!

Be part of the team that sends the Montclair  eight and pair to England's Henley Royal Regatta, where the world's fastest boats compete!

On June 26th, eight oarsmen, a coxswain, two alternates, and their coaches will board a plane for London to train and compete at Henley.  Let them know that you're supporting the team!

CREWS & COACHES

The eight includes 2017 and 2018  Garden State Champions, Stotesbury Cup Champions, and SRAA Nationals Champions, and the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Youth Champions,  Henry Vecchione (stroke), Kenny Coplan, Owen King, Alex Abuhoff, Max Pursche, Djoume Traore,  plus Kjel Schlemmer and Jamie Pew, and coxswain Julianna Langhorn.  

The pair: Patrick Schroeder (starboard) and Theo Weil (port) will travel as alternates and row in the adult pairs event at Henley. Patrick and Theo row on the boys second varsity, which captured the Garden State Championship, and silver medals at Stotesbury and SRAA National Championships this spring. 

Coaches Jeremy Michalitsianos, Lorna Rundle, Julian Canha, and Reuben Mann will accompany us and train the team.

OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL

We must cover the cost of our boat rentals (an eight and a pair), 12 nights of overnight accommodations with local Henley hosts for the athletes and assistant coaches, Stewards' badges for our crews to enter the finish line area with other competitors, ground transportation, oar shipping, entry fees -- that's even before we can offset the families' costs of flying the athletes to London.

BID TO NAME THE EIGHT BOAT AT HENLEY  

That's right, we're is accepting bids for the right to name the boat at Henley. Send your bid directly to the team via email  to NameTheMontclairHenleyEight@gmail.com. Minimum bid: $2500. 

All bids are due by departure day, June 26th, 5 pm.
The winner will be announced as the athletes' flight takes off for England. The eight will be christened at Henley, and your name will grace the bow during all competitions. You will also be named the eight's official Boat Sponsor.

CONTRIBUTIONS OF ANY SIZE ARE APPRECIATED!

• Contributors of any amount from $1 to $34 will be thanked in our “Henley Send Off” email and Facebook post  on June 26th and receive thank you emails.
• Contribute more $35 or more, and you will receive a postcard directly from Henley, signed by a rower or coxswain during the regatta.
• Contribute more $50 or more, and you will receive a postcard directly from Henley, signed by a rower or coxswain during the regatta, plus the athletes will donate one dozen brownies to Toni's Kitchen in Montclair in your name.
• Contribute $100 or more, and you will receive a postcard directly from Henley, signed by Coach Jeremy and all the athletes during the regatta, plus a photo of the eight or the pair at Henley.

• $250 Port Sponsor:  You will receive everything the donors of $100 receive, plus you will be listed as a Henley sponsor in the “Henley Send Off” and “Henley Thanks” emails and will be invited to a “Welcome Back” soiree for the athletes and coaches at our training venue, Nereid Boathouse, in Rutherford, New Jersey.
• $500 Starboard Sponsor: You will receive all the benefits above plus a 1/2 hour rowing lesson with a Montclair Crew coach, and a half-hour row with the Montclair Boys Varsity Eight on the famed Passaic River where they train.
• $1,000 Sweep Sponsor: You will receive all the benefits above plus a 1/2 hour rowing lesson with Coach Jeremy, and an hour's row with the Montclair Boys Varsity Eight on the famed Passaic River where they train.
• $2500 Royal Sponsor: You will receive all the benefits above, a 1/2 hour rowing lesson with Coach Jeremy, an hour's row with the Boys Varsity Eight, and Royal Sponsor promotion, and your donation will be entered in the "Bid to Name the Boat" challenge.
