Dear Friend,

I am fundraising for an organization that is dear to my heart—the Georgia Symphony Orchestra—as we navigate a season with challenges unlike any other.

As a member of the GSO’s board of directors, I have been privileged to witness first-hand the important role this dynamic, multifaceted nonprofit organization plays in our community, both culturally and economically.

Serving the community is the reason the GSO began 70 years ago, and it remains a guiding principle in the development of our four program areas: the orchestra, GSO Chorus, GSO Jazz! and the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra,  currently the largest in the Southeast and one of the top-10 largest youth orchestral programs in the country.

In spite of current restrictions prohibiting the GSO from holding in-person concerts, we are continuing to make music accessible in innovative and collaborative ways, such as the Symphony in the City and Georgia’s Home for the Holidays online video series.

However, responding to these trials has come at a price. Our concert ticket revenue typically averages 13-18 percent of our annual operating budget and we rely on the generosity of corporations, foundations and individuals like you and me to fund the balance.

So, with our concert season on hold since March, our need for your financial assistance is even greater today.

I am hoping to raise at least $500 for the GSO. Please join me in donating to support this important cause and help the GSO reach their campaign goal of $10,000.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
