To Our Friends,

A recent visitor to the Museum, together with her family, thanked us as she walked out the Museum’s new front door. In our guestbook, she wrote: “The history that is here is breathtaking at times. Seeing it first-hand really hit home.”

That same month, over 1,000 people visited the Museum – a first-ever feat that beat our previous monthly attendance record (783 people) by a longshot. More people are using the Museum now than ever before. That means more programs, more research, more exhibitions, and more voices illustrating the story of our community.

Protected within our walls are the stories of people. Just think of how many stories there are – stretching from our ancestors at the beginnings of civilization all the way to you. Every story matters. The study of history – and the collection of stories – helps us recognize we are a part of something greater than ourselves, and that none of us are alone in our experiences.

Learning from history allows us to recognize ourselves in those that may seem different from us. As a local history and culture museum, we are small – and personal – enough to ensure that every story is honored. You can see how we’re practicing this in unique ways by watching our new video series, “Kennebunk Voices,” found on our website and on the Museum’s Youtube Channel.

The Museum needs your support to continue collecting and sharing stories stemming from the human experiences in our region. Because the Museum relies so heavily on donations, membership, and grants, we appreciate every dollar you choose to give because we know it comes from the heart.

Our goal is to raise $60,000 by December 31st. We’re half-way there! Imagine what stories we can share next, with your help.
