Interested in helping the homeless in your community but aren't sure where to start? You can help someone start a new chapter of their life at Palo Alto Housing's Eagle Park Apartments, a newly built 67-unit apartment complex in Mountain View for extremely-low to low-income households, simply by sponsoring a $300 move-in kit.

Of the 67 units, 33 will be set aside for homeless individuals, with 30 of those units specifically for extremely-low income and special needs homeless veterans. Eagle Park Apartments will be an architecturally innovative building for households earning up to 60 percent of the Santa Clara County Area Median Income (AMI). Sponsoring a move-in kit helps set someone up for success in their new permanent home and makes them feel like a welcome member of your community.

Whether you're someone trying to be the change they wish to see in the world or an organization that wants to give back to their community, Palo Alto Housing (PAH) wants your help welcoming new residents with Move-In Kits as they move into the building in July 2019. From clean sheets to dinnerware, each kit will contain bedroom, bath and kitchen essentials.

Are you currently able to offer more time than money but still want to help? We still want your participation! PAH is also looking for volunteers to help us lovingly arrange the items in the units before move-in day and create “Welcome Home” cards for each apartment.

Each Move-In Kit will include the following items for Bedrooms, Baths & Kitchens and more:

  • Bedroom

    • Sheets, Blanket, Pillows, and Comforter

  • Bath

    • Towels, Soap, Shampoo, Toothpaste, and Deodorant
  • Kitchen
    • Pots, Pans, Utensils, Plates, and Cutting Board

  • Cleaning Supplies

    • Sponges, Laundry Soap, Garbage Cans, and Broom
