Our mission

The YMCA New American Welcome Center is dedicated to welcoming and empowering immigrants, refugees, and newcomers as they build new lives in our community. Through personalized support, access to essential services, and culturally responsive education, we help individuals and families navigate their new environment with confidence and dignity. Together with our volunteers and partners, we foster inclusion, resilience, and belonging for all. 

Help we give newcomers to settle into the community

We help clients enroll children in school, find healthcare, and access to benefits they may be eligible for. We help them acquire items they may need such as clothing, food, and household goods. Using interpreters, we help clients read immigration documents and other important items they receive in the mail, help change addresses with immigration, and more. 

We invite and provide an avenue for volunteers and community members to join with us in welcoming newcomers.
