On March 27, 2004, the Northwest Georgia Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. was officially chartered by 60 women under the leadership and vision of Alice Archey. The Northwest Georgia Chapter remains a non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate on behalf of black women and girls to promote leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education, and economic empowerment.

The Northwest Georgia Chapter provides financial education and planning skills to women of color through NCBW's signature workshop series, Sister-Nomic$.  We also offer resources and tools to women re-entering the workforce, encourages and supports Black woman-owned businesses, and advocates for pay equity for Black women.

One of the Northwest Georgia Chapter goals is to raise the level of quality education in the public-school system through advocacy, mentorship, and leadership development of both youth and adult females of color.  The organization is a staunch advocate for HBCUs as well as for STEM education.  Our major initiatives include the High School to High Heels Mentoring Program, Women’s Leadership Initiatives, and the Keeping It 100 with Code Program.

The Northwest Georgia Chapter also offers programs focused on the well-being of the whole woman: physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  We address health disparities by providing awareness, education, and assistance to ensure adequate care to women of color.  Our major initiatives include the P.O.W.E.R. Program and a health seminar series that addresses family and childhood obesity, cancer/health disparities, and other health issues that disproportionately affect Black women.

The Northwest Georgia Chapter focuses our Public Policy efforts on civic engagement supporting NCBW's advocacy agenda on issues or disparities related to health, education, and economic empowerment that adversely impacts women of color.  We also provide voter education and advocate for voter registration and voter rights.
