Hello family, friends, and friendly strangers!  Thanks for considering a contribution to my NCTC Play It Forward campaign.

Why Am I Raising Money for NCTC?

Theatre is a unique art form that has the power to entertain, educate and enrich our community. It creates a shared experience for the performers and the patrons that can’t be duplicated. From the middle schooler who learns teamwork and partnership in their first production, to the high schooler who finds their voice on the stage, to the college student pursuing a degree in the field, to the producers of tomorrow who are pushing boundaries and telling crucial stories, the North Carolina Theatre Conference ensures that we have a vibrant theatre community across our state.

Personally and professionally, I have received so much value from my involvement with NCTC over the last six years.  I attended my first NCTC Producing Gathering in 2013 and, as a new theatre producer, I learned more in those three days than in months of online research. I was honored to join the Board of NCTC in 2017 and I hope you will consider a contribution to my Play It Forward campaign in support of the annual producing gathering so we can continue to help develop excellent theatre talent around the state!

Sadly, the 2020 Producing Gathering has been cancelled due to COVID-19. This is an intermission for the program, we’re not bringing down the curtain. In the meantime, we are sharing resources to help theatre companies navigate this crisis, providing pro bono consulting and guidance, advocating for federal and state relief funding, and making plans to bring the field together as soon as we can. Your donations will help us invest in the 2021 event, as well as all of the services we will continue to provide for professional and community theatres. With the help of our donors, we are committed to providing these services regardless of a theatre company’s ability to pay NCTC dues during the recovery.

The Producing Gathering brings our community together and provides professional development for theatre leaders. It is an opportunity for experienced leaders to share their wisdom and for emerging leaders to gather the tools they need to successfully serve their audiences. Donations help us provide discounts and scholarships, allow us to keep all registration rates affordable, and help us bring-in expert presenters and inspiring speakers. While our next Producing Gathering might be a year away, the work to build this event has already begun. You can help us make our comeback conference the best one yet!

Giving Level Benefits:

I hope you will consider making a donation towards my campaign. Each and every gift counts – and is 100% tax deductible as a contribution to NCTC. And I’m offering some bonus rewards for different giving levels:

$25: A  written shout-out on Facebook

$100: A video shout-out from me on Facebook

$200: A video shout-out from my amazing son, Max, on Facebook (He's way cooler than me)

What Is NCTC?

The North Carolina Theatre Conference strengthens NC’s vibrant theatre industry and engages tomorrow’s artists, audiences and advocates.

Play It Forward and you'll help support NCTC's four flagship programs:

College Discovery Day, where current high school students interested in pursuing theater in college can meet schools, audition, present portfolios, and receive scholarships.

Middle School Play Festival and High School Play Festival, for current middle and high school students enrolled in theatre programs or clubs to showcase their work and meet fellow thespians.

Producing Gathering, an annual professional development conference for theatres throughout the state.

Thank you for your generosity!
