Sidney Horton: Pay It Forward with NCTC 2020

Hi, I am Sidney Horton and I am a board member for NCTC.  NCTC has been a part of my life since 1979 when I participated in my first play festival as a freshman in high school.  I have been a fan of NCTC every since.

I was honored when asked to serve on the board of this fine organization.  I love the mission and what it does for theatre statewide.

Many of you have never experienced a play festival.  The energy is electrifying!  There are young artist everywhere celebrating theatre.  They give performances that they have worked hard on for months, they cheer on their fellow actors from other schools,  they build lasting friendships but most of all they learn about the craft.  They learn that theatre is a discipline and the good theatre comes with hard work. 

 They are supported by their hard working teachers.  I love watching them interact with their students.  I love their energy.  They are the backbone of the festival!  They love what they do and they love their kids, it is evident by the way the kids express their love for them in return. 

 Never mess with a theatre teacher because you will have to answer to their students and you don't want to do that!

I know things are a little crazy in our world right now and we are not sure of what the future holds.  I trust that you will join me in support of NCTC.  No gift is too great or too small.  Let's insure that theatre remains strong in this state.  Help us support our youth.  Theatre is a strong tool, it entertains but it also has the power to educate, to heal, to comfort, to encourage, to validate, to challenge and to change lives for the better.
