Becky Brown

Transplant Type: Double Lung

Becky Brown is fighting for her life. In 2014, she was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The diagnosis came as a shock, as there is no family history of lung disease. Her lung function has steadily declined, and Becky now relies on an oxygen tank to help her breathe. Doctors say a double-lung transplant is critical to her survival. Before Becky can be placed on the transplant waiting list, her transplant center is requiring her to raise $6,000.

.During such a difficult time, Becky is thankful for the love and support of her husband, Rick, and their family and friends. Becky and Rick have four children and three grandchildren. She looks forward to receiving a transplant that will allow her to breathe without the use of an oxygen tank and be more active with her grandchildren. Becky wants to feel like herself again and to be able to do the things she used to enjoy like gardening, fishing, and going for walks. But right now, she needs your help.

The average double-lung transplant costs more than $1 million. And that’s only the beginning. Even with health insurance, which covers a portion of the transplant costs, she faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.

When she receives her transplant, Becky will have to temporarily relocate to be near the transplant center as she recovers, incurring significant expenses for travel, food, and lodging

.You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Becky. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the Tennessee Transplant Fund,  3249 W Sarazen's Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Becky Brown” on the memo line.

Thank you for your generosity
