Founded in 2011, DDR is the first no kill rescue center in Detroit, helping 80-120 dogs at any given time. DDR invests time and training into rehabilitating and re-homing dogs. DDR even accepts transfers from other shelters to both help those shelters and ensure the safety of the dogs.
My (Nick's) newest member of the family, Shayna (pictured above), was adopted from DDR. DDR was responsive and went out of their way to make sure the adoption process was straightforward and the transition was smooth for Shayna. The people at DDR went above and beyond, coming in on a day off so we could meet her and providing ample supplies to make sure Shayna was comfortable and well cared for when moving to her new home. They make a concerted effort to make sure their dogs find a forever home, and deserve every bit of support we can offer.
