Nilton Pereira

Transplant Type: Kidney

Nilton Pereira is awaiting a new lease on life. In 2017, Nilton was diagnosed with Wegner’s Disease. His diagnosis came as a shock, as there is no family history of kidney disease, and Nilton had always been healthy. Unfortunately, he is now on dialysis, which takes a toll on his quality of life and leaves him tired. Doctors say a kidney transplant is critical for his survival.

During this difficult time, Nilton is thankful for the love and support of his wife, Dulce, and their family and friends. Nilton and Dulce have three young children, and his illness causes worry for his family. He looks forward to receiving a transplant that will free him from dialysis and allow him to be the active husband and father he longs to be. Nilton wants nothing more than to be able to live life without so many limitations and to have many more years enjoying time with his family. He is ready to be healthy again and be able to go on vacation with his family. But right now, he needs your help.

The average kidney transplant costs more than $414,000, and that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, Nilton still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to his survival as the transplant itself. Nilton had to stop working due to his declining health, further adding to his financial burdens.

You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Nilton. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to National Foundation for Transplants, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Nilton Pereira” on the memo line.

Thank you for your generosity!
