Kurz for the Kids

I serve as the pastor at The Garden Church in the Upton neighborhood of Baltimore City. I also have the privilege of leading ONE HOPE, an initiative to build healthy churches in the inner city. Currently, we are focusing on two new works, one in Sandtown Baltimore and one in Southwest Baltimore.

Many at-risk children fill our neighborhoods and are in need of healthy mentorship. In our communities, the streets are alluring, drug trade is ever-present, many kids won't graduate from high school, and cycles of poverty and violence continue. Along with neighborhood outreach, our church workers strive to come alongside families and invest in the next generation. Our goal is not merely social development, but that they might come to know Jesus, our one hope.

This initiative is to raise funds to support youth work in our three focus areas. The funds will be divided between youth work in Sandtown, Southwest, and our own Upton neighborhood.
