On the 16th of April 2016 I'm hosting a Global Psychedelic Dinner at Bedwas Workmen's Hall in Bedwas, Caerphilly for anyone in my community who wishes to support and/or learn more about psychedelic studies and treatment in a fun and educative environment. The event is being hosted to assist the non-profit Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) in raising money for their research into MDMA-assisted psychotherapy to treat posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
In addition to raising funds for vital research, I also want to help reduce stigma and enhance public understanding of the risks and beneficial uses of psychedelics for science, healing, spirituality, creativity, and personal growth.
The hope is that everyone will come away with an enlightened perspective on psychedelic drugs and their many applications after being offered an environment in which to share differing opinions and probe the varying mindsets present at the event.
I presume that entry will be free for the event so that nobody is excluded from learning and taking part, but those who feel that they want to support the cause can do so by donating to the fundraiser online or donating by cheque or pledge at the event. I imagine that there will be a digital tablet present at the event on which people can make donations.
Further information regarding catering and other items on the agenda will be posted here soon.
