North Bay LGBTQI Families seeks to provide families with LGBTQIA+ parents, caregivers, and children with a means of building community and advocating for inclusive, diverse, and welcoming spaces in Sonoma County and the surrounding areas. In addition to planning family-friendly social events, our group hosts workshops and other training opportunities for parents to develop the tools and skills they need to engage in intersectional advocacy for equity in schools, local government, and elsewhere in our rural, semi-rural, and suburban communities. We are a fiscally sponsored project of Our Family Coalition.

As we shift back to in-person programs this summer while continuing some of our online offerings, our main areas of focus will include our monthly social and family gatherings for gender expansive youth under age 12, community building events for LGBTQIA+ families, and ongoing school advocacy. We also plan to continue developing programs focused on building intergenerational connection within our community through outreach to LGBTQIA+ seniors. Donations received through our Give Out Day fundraiser will support this work by allowing us to offer compensation to community members who serve as facilitators or speakers at our programs, provide art supplies and snacks to youth participants, and to cover other operational expenses for in-person and online gatherings.

We are so appreciative of our community’s support, and we thank you for considering making a donation to help us continue to serve our LGBTQIA+ families through our Give Out Day fundraiser!
