Harnessing the power of a collective community to empower African women entrepreneurs

$695

raised by 8 people

$2,500 goal

For centuries, communities across Africa have recognized the advantages of working together towards a common goal, usually to champion and accelerate economic development to benefit all citizens.

AWEC is inspired by those traditional cooperatives that enable people to pool their individual resources, and utilise their time, knowledge, and expertise to provide support to their communities.

After seeing the tangible impact that AWEC had on her business, Kumbutso Takomana Black knew she wanted to help other African women entrepreneurs to benefit in the same way she did. Even before the end of her AWEC year, Kumbutso  set up a monthly donation that will enable future AWEC Fellows to gain access to the online learning platform.

As alumnae of AWEC’s 12-month program, we invite you to join Kumbutso and the other Founding Members - Atinuke Babatunde, Rehema Bashir, Fatsani Dogani, Amina Igoud, Desiree Joule-Adam, Saliwe Mutetwa - of the AWEC Alumnae Giving Circle.

Twelve, monthly recurring donations between $5 - $50 is all it takes to be named a member of this special community.

  • $5/month - Bronze Circle Member: Provide one Fellow with access to AWEC’s online learning platform
  • $10/month - Silver Circle Member: Double your impact to enable two Fellows to participate in AWEC
  • $25/month - Gold Circle Member: Sponsor a team of five Fellows to access AWEC learning
  • $50/month - Platinum Circle Member: Empower a peer group of ten Fellows to access AWEC learning

Thank you for your generosity.
