Odella Needs Life-Saving Surgery!

Poor sweet Odella was found wandering incredibly pregnant in a rural Virginia community. It looked like she would end up giving birth to her puppies underneath a shrub by the side of the highway. But thankfully, someone found her and got her to a shelter. But that shelter was completely full and yes, even pregnant dogs are euthanized when there are no places for them to go. Thankfully they reached out to us and we were able to rescue Odella and get her to a foster home. But her horrible fortune was not over. 

Late last night she went into labor and was in distress so she had to be rushed to the emergency room. After having stillborn removed from her, she continued to strain and required emergency vetting to deliver to other stillborn puppies. She remains so sweet gently, kissing the veterinarian and tech who tried to guide her during this tragic birth. This morning, her sad and painful experiences still not over. A deceased puppy remains inside and she requires life-saving emergency surgery to remove her uterus and the puppy, and this must be done immediately because infection has already kicked in.
