I am excited to announce that I recently became a board member of Californians for Justice (CFJ) - an organization that empowers young people to create and improve schools so all students can thrive. I joined CFJ because I passionately believe that student voice and experience must be at the center of education policy if we are truly going to transform our education system to ensure equity and meet the needs of the 21st Century. 

CFJ is the leading statewide organization advocating for educational justice by building the power of youth, communities of color, immigrants, low-income families, and LGBTQ communities. CFJ's impact is exponential - they develop hundreds of individual future leaders and improve education policy at a statewide level. In just 3 years, students have advocated for and won equitable school funding, increased funding for programs that keep kids in schools, and changed a state law to improve how districts involve the community in budget decisions. Fresno is one of the four communities where CFJ has been empowering students to lead on issues that are important to them. 

As a board member, I have committed to raise $1,000 to help CFJ continue its amazing work and need your help. If just 20 of my friends donate $50, I will reach my goal, but any and all donations help.
