Bruno is from from Quito, Ecuador, and Elisabeth grew up outside of St Paul, MN. Their shared passion for the arts led them both to The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where they met at the beginning of their sophomore year. A romance began! Since early on, they have called each other "bear." Fast forward to today, eight happy, challenging, loving years later: they are getting married, and are SO excited about it! With talk of marriage came talk of family, and a dream of adoption was born.
Now, this dream is still several years down the road... but in celebration of their promise to one another, Bruno and Elisabeth are raising funds for OSSO: Orphanage Support Services Organization. The bride and groom truly have everything they need, and are trying to "travel light" for a life lived between two countries. This fundraiser is an opportunity to pay forward their love and support to children in need, and OSSO is the perfect fit! The organization has provided steadfast service to orphans around the world for more than 20 years, directly serves children in Ecuador, and, of course, has an extra special moniker: "oso" is Spanish for "bear."
OSSO supports seven orphanages in Ecuador year-round with volunteers and monetary donations. COVID-19 has prevented the deployment of volunteers, and presented countless additional challenges in providing food, shelter, safety and care for the children in the orphanages. No contribution is too small to make a difference.
Thank you for so much for your generosity, and for being a part of our journey!
Much love,
Bruno and Elisabeth
