The Wisconsin Association of School Councils (WASC) is a statewide organization of public, private, and parochial elementary, middle, junior, and senior high school student councils and/or student leadership groups dedicated to the continuation and expansion of leadership development and student responsibilities in Wisconsin. Its values are Education, Engagement, Empowerment, and Relationships.  The leadership programs and curriculum developed by the WASC are based on Leadership Standards which are linked to the Common Core Standards. The WASC is partnered with the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA) and affiliated with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP/NASC).

The WASC provides leadership programming via conferences and summer camps. Last year, over 4,000 students attended WASC events! Each year, the WASC holds its Annual State Conference where hundreds of students and advisors come together to celebrate leadership and student voice. To ensure the success of the 2025 State Conference, we are seeking donations from area businesses and individuals to support the costs of keynote speakers, materials, and the state community service project.

Hosting a statewide event involves significant expenses, and your contribution would also support ongoing Student Council initiatives, such as blood drives, school spirit events, and community service projects. Please consider donating to help us seize this remarkable opportunity. Should you wish to learn more, our OWHS students would be delighted to provide a presentation tailored to your organization. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a visit by emailing us at kim.kargus-myers@oshkosh.k12.wi.us.
