Playtime for Chimpanzees: Enrichment Items

Fauna Foundation is the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Canada. We provide permanent sanctuary for chimpanzees and monkeys retired from biomedical research and zoos.

Fauna endeavors to promote natural chimpanzee behaviors and healing with environmental enrichment. For example chimpanzees naturally climb, forage, manipulate objects, and groom. To promote these behaviors we provide ropes and structures to increase natural locomotion. Fauna provides food puzzles to promote foraging. Fauna provide myriad crayons, puzzles, toys, and clothes to promote manipulation. Fauna provide hairbrushes, nail files, and back scratchers to promote grooming. This is a lot of stuff that we need to purchase to maintain a regular supply of objects for enrichment. 

Its incredibly rewarding to help to put together enrichment for the chimps and monkeys. Help me help them.
