Happy Pride!!!

June is Pride Month AND my birthday month. 

As most of you are aware, there's a concerted effort by the Republican party at the local, state and national levels to take away basic human rights from our transgender friends, coworkers, loved ones and family. Realizing they can no longer openly be anti-gay or lesbian, the conservative, faux-Christian right has set its sight on transgender Americans -- especially children. This is morally reprehensible, unconstitutional and just plain mean.

I support transgender equality without exception and I am asking you, my family and friends, to help me support this community which I care so deeply for. While there are several great organizations, this year, I am working to raise money for the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE). NCTE is a team of hard-working staff members supported by a nationwide community of transgender people, allies, and advocates with an extensive record of winning life-saving change for transgender people. 

During the month of pride, you can turn your $10 donation into $10,000 to support NCTE and our work.

For every $10+ donation we receive, NCTE gets credited with a new donor. The organization who has the largest number of donors between June 1st and June 30th gets a $10,000 grant from the Horizons Foundation (the org who is in charge of Give Out Day).
