Autism Service Dog for Jackson

$625

raised by 15 people

Hello, My name is Kayla Klingler and Ej Klingler and We have two beautiful children Jackson who is 7, and Björn who is 2. Jackson was diagnosed with Autism in October 2021. Since his diagnosis, Jackson has had a daily struggle with his daily routine and life. The help of a service dog will give him the ability to increase his participation and functional levels in everyday activities by providing a greater connection to their external environment, and a more vital ability to form social relationships and behavioral skills.  The ability to have a service dog will calm Jackson and result in an increased attention span and a more excellent aptitude for learning. A service dog can also help ease Jackson’s fear and anxiety due to environmental changes and other triggers, resulting in reduced feelings of anger and aggression.

The ability to have a service dog can be used to calm him when he can sleep alone in his own bed and room, along as a way to break the repetitive behaviors that Jackson displayed, as a way for Jackson to work on touching and being touched, and as a way for Jackson to work on verbal communication by using the dog’s commands.  Overall, it can help Jackson develop a greater sensitivity toward independence and overall quality of life when he gets older.
