Brave Mama Gives Birth Under Abandoned Stairwell

Brave mama Chula was very pregnant and very alone in Puerto Rico.  She had no home to call her own and her body was working overtime trying to support her unborn puppies.  Every day she was scrounging for food, trying to sustain her pregnancy with any scraps she could find.  It is truly a miracle that she was healthy enough to delivery the puppies with no major medical issues.  Chula and her babies aren't out of the woods though.  They are only alive because a kind woman fed them while they were growing, but now the puppies are starting to roam.  Fearing the little ones would wander into a nearby busy street and get hit by cars, the woman called our rescue partners and asked that they save the puppies and mama.  Even though Chula and her puppies, Lolita, Goldie, Chiqie, and Bonnie are no longer living on the streets, they still need a warm place to call home.  Homeward Trails has committed to bringing this beautiful family to the DC area so that they can begin their new life.  However, bringing one dog to the states is tough enough but a family of 5 presents all new challenges.  We are so in need of your donations to fund this mama and her babies' trip.  Please sponsor Chula and her family today!
