Patti Cory
Transplant Type: Liver
Patti Cory is fighting for her life. After living with Hepatitis C for 25 years, she now suffers from hepatocellular carcinoma. Her illness leaves her very tired and takes a toll on her quality of life. Doctors say a liver transplant is critical to her survival. Before she can receive a transplant, her transplant center is requiring her to raise funds.
During this difficult time, Patti is grateful for the love and support of her family and friends. She is a single mother of two grown children, Derek and Kelsey, who worry a lot about her. Patti looks forward to receiving a transplant that will give her back her energy and allow her to feel better. She has always been active—she enjoys riding horses, playing cards, and spending time with friends—but her health sometimes limits her activities now. More than anything, Patti wants to be healthy so she can have more time with her family and be around to meet her future grandchildren. But right now she needs your help.
The average liver transplant costs approximately $740,000, and that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, she still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to her survival as the transplant itself. Patti continues to work, although she is not able to work as many hours as she used to due to her health, further contributing to her financial burdens.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Patti. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to National Foundation for Transplants, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Patti Cory” on the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
