To start GBL off right, Paw Prints would like first to say a GREAT BIG “THANK YOU” to ALL PAST SUPPORTERS! Without your generosity over the years, Paw Prints would not have been able to accomplish all that we have.
Paw Prints believes that by spaying and neutering your pets, we can stop the overpopulation of animals in Dawson County! Animals will live longer and healthier lives and are at reduced risk of health issues down the road.
Paw Prints in Dawson County (PPDC) assists low-income/disadvantaged pet owners in the cost of spaying or neutering their pets (cats and dogs), helps control feral cat and dog populations, and supplies pet food to Dawson County food pantries.
PPDC responds to community members via phone call. Residents may call PPDC and request financial and/or transportation assistance for their cat or dog. Additionally, PPDC reduces the number of unwanted cats through TNR (trap, neuter, return) practice and “street dogs” via rehabilitation, treatment, and re-homing.
OUR PURPOSE:
- Encourage spaying and neutering of cats and dogs.
- Increase awareness of responsible pet ownership.
- Promote the adoption of homeless companion animals.
When you donate on November 6th, YOU have the power to help reduce over 250 unwanted litters of puppies or kittens.
Paw Prints would like to challenge you to donate and get TWO OTHER PEOPLE to donate THE SAME AMOUNT OR MORE THAN YOURS! Please help us reach our GOAL of $5,000.
Every penny donated stays in Dawson County, spaying and neutering cats and dogs, family pets, and feral animals.
IMPACT IN LEXINGTON:
In 2024, PPDC provided low-cost spay and neuter options and transportation. They have assisted in a cat hoarding situation in which over 20 cats were re-homed from a single resident. They have removed abandoned dogs from the street, sexually altered them if necessary, rehabilitated, and re-homed them.
Monthly meetings are open to everyone if you are interested in volunteering for Paw Prints or becoming a foster. Additional meeting information will be posted on the website and Facebook page.
