California Coalition for Women Prisoners
Peace Development Fund supports groups like California Coalition for Women Prisoners (CCWP). CCWP monitor and challenge the abusive conditions inside California women’s prisons. They fight for the release of women and trans prisoners. CCWP supports women and trans people in their process of re-entering the community.
Since 1981, Peace Development Fund has been assisting small, grassroots organizations through grants, fiscal sponsorship and capacity building training. By donating to PDF this #GivingTuesday, you will be supporting our work and the work of several progressive organizations for the year ahead. Your gift will go directly to our Community Organizing Grants. For every $5,000 we raise, one more grant can be made to a small organization that is making a big difference.
While PDF supports a variety of organizations, they typically fall into the categories of human rights, social justice and environmental sustainability. Currently, PDF is supporting groups such as Assata's Daughters who work to support young, Black women and are part of the Black Lives Matter movement, Adelante Alabama Worker Center where low-wage immigrant workers rights and justice are promoted, and California Coalition for Women Prisoners who fight for women and transgender rights in California prisons and assist in their re-entry into the community.
