Homeward Trails needs your help to repair our Peace Room suites at our Adoption Center!

We need your help with some urgent repairs to our Adoption Center peace room suites.  Almost seven years of continuous operation and thousands of dogs coming through our doors have really taken a toll on our aging building. Our Peace Room Suites, designed to house dogs who need extra space, distance from other dogs, or just a little more peace and quiet, have really taken a beating. Years of moisture and anxious dogs have caused significant damage to our five Peace Rooms and we need to replace all the drywall and rebuild all the walls.

We are so fortunate to have a wonderful, talented volunteer doing all the work for free so we only need to cover the cost of the materials. Unfortunately, the materials required to dog proof the rooms to make them last another 7 + years come with a pretty hefty price tag, especially at a time when we have been slammed with astronomical medical costs.

In order to be able to safely house dogs in these rooms, these repairs can't wait. We need to raise $2000 to cover the cost of materials including drywall, plexiglass and FRP paneling.

Please consider making a donation and helping spread the word.

If you've been the Adoption Center and seen two of five Peace Rooms directly behind the lobby, you know how wonderful they are and how much the dogs rely on these spaces to decompress from the conditions from which they come. These spaces are essential to Homeward Trails being able to serve dogs who need an extra level of care to safely stay at our Adoption Center.

Homeward Trails Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides pet adoption in Virginia, Washington, DC and Maryland. We find homes for dogs and cats rescued from low-income, rural animal shelters or whose owners can no longer care for them.
