Ecuador Missions 2020!

Hola Family and Friends!

I hope this letter finds you well. This year, I have been blessed with the opportunity to join a Gordon College ministry team that will be serving with the youth ministry in Quito, Ecuador. I will be co-leading a team of 11 Gordon students back to Shandia, a native jungle village located outside of Quito; develop and work with their youth ministry program. To those who are unaware, I had the chance to go to Shandia my freshman year and work with their community, minister to the village children and create long lasting friendships. Having the opportunity to go back to a place that has impacted my life and lead a team to experience what I went through, is something very special. Gordon College has been involved serving and partnering with Quito Quest and El Refugio, for over 5 years. In the past, Gordon students have even completed internships seeing the work God continues to do. While there, we live with the residents, complete any needed work projects, establish meaningful relationships and above all experience life with them as we strive to share the love of Christ. 

 The trip will take place during our spring break, March 7th – March 15th, and I have personally committed myself to several training sessions and small-group meetings with my team that will prepare us for the cultural differences, growing experiences and relationships that we will encounter and develop in Ecuador. 

As a participant in Ecuador Missions, I am responsible for raising $1,000 for the project and the funds are due by February 27. This money covers airfare, vaccinations, food and housing, as well as building materials and vacation Bible school supplies for our site. Please be assured we are keeping these costs as low as possible. Any financial help you could give would be greatly appreciated, and also know your prayer support will be valued just as much.
