Piper Deserves More

Sweet Piper is a three-year-old hound mix that was found wandering lost and alone, suffering from a bite wound and shoulder injuries. She spent the entire summer in a rural shelter in Virginia, just waiting for someone to claim her. But no one did. Until Homeward Trails came along, that is.

We can only guess at her past, but we know we want to give her a better future! Piper is in our care now. She is recovering well from her injuries. She is a peppy gal and would thrive in home that could give her the love, attention, and playtime she longs for.

Unfortunately, Piper has heartworm---a devastating, potentially deadly disease. But there's a (costly) cure! We have received a grant from the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to cover a portion of her medical costs. Your dollars will cover the rest and ensure Piper gets all the vetting and treatment she needs to live a happy life in a forever home.
