So here we are again—cue the walk-on music—because it’s officially the 2025 fundraising season for Constellation’s youth education programs! Yes, as a board member, it’s technically my duty (ha-ha, she said “duty”) to champion donations, but let’s be honest: I also do it because I’ve seen first-hand, as a mom of a Constellation afterschool program attendee, how amazing these program are for youth. I’ll cheerfully pester your inbox and shake every virtual collection jar not just out of obligation, but because these theater and film workshops light a creative fire under kids as they discover their voices (and occasionally, their inner drama queens).

And I know, I’ve been waxing poetic about Constellation’s youth education programs so much you’d think I was auditioning for “Best After-School Ambassador.” But let’s not forget—Constellation is also a bona fide professional theater company, dazzling audiences with a galaxy of productions all season long. They stage everything from beloved classics to brand-new works, so while I may sound like the world’s most enthusiastic camp counselor (yeah, summer camps!), rest assured, this is a place where grown-up talent gets just as much time in the spotlight.

Lastly, to my fellow Bloomingtonians, if you haven't yet been to a Constellation production, consider this your official invitation! Shoot me a text, flag me down in the Kroger, or interrupt my sideline cheering (or is it screaming?!) at a soccer game—just let me know you’re in, and I’ll happily snag tickets for us. It would be an absolute blast to have you join me as my guest. And to our beloved friends and family who still haven’t set foot in Bloomington (no shade, but you know who you are), that invitation extends to you, too. Book your visit, pack your bags, and prepare for curtain up—it’s showtime, and you don’t want to miss it!
