Prairie Is Patiently Waiting to be Saved

Precious Prairie is a 1.5 year old Chihuahua mix who surprisingly was found as a stray in rural VA. Prairie was brought into a shelter where staff was sure her owner would come looking for her in no time. Sadly, days turned into weeks and not a single person came forward to claim her.  Prairie has gone from the loneliness of being a stray dog to the sadness of living her life out in a cage. Homeward Trails can't bear to see this sweet girl lose her zest for life. Prairie should be getting all the cuddles she wants but instead settles for laying alone in a hard plastic bed.
