$5,000 goal

Once over a million strong, fewer than 700 Puerto Rican parrots remain today. Together, we can bring them back from the brink of extinction.

Your gift will directly support:

1. Growing the population
Support captive breeding with food, enclosures, and expert care—so more parrots can return to the wild.

2. Creating safe nesting sites
Deforestation has taken away natural nest cavities. Your gift helps us build and install nest boxes so wild parrots can raise their chicks safely.

3. Research & rescue
Provide vital tools—like leg bands and radio collars—to track survival, monitor growth, and rescue injured birds.

4. Protecting chicks in the wild
With cameras, climbing gear, and monitoring equipment, we can safeguard nests and give chicks the best chance to fledge.

World Parrot Trust (WPT) has partnered with the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (PRDNER) to make this goal a reality. With your help, we can continue to support the captive breeding and release of Puerto Rican parrots and ensure that the skies of Puerto Rico will once again be filled with the calls of these enchanting birds.

You can be the one to help the long-term survival and recovery of the Puerto Rican parrot. Please, donate today!
