DREAM Fundraising!!

Hi All!

This is my second year with DREAM mentoring and my first year as a Co-Chair. DREAM is a nonprofit organization that aims to close the opportunity gap for children in low income housing through mentoring in order to offer support, resources, and opportunities for children and their families. 

I'm thrilled with all we've been able to do this semester and can't wait to continue providing our kids with new experiences and one-on-one support in 2020! My mentee, Kulmiye, is 9 years old and he joined DREAM last year just after I started as a mentor. Some of his favorite activities are soccer, basketball, making paper airplanes, teasing me, and, of course, playing Fortnite. Kulmiye is an incredibly intelligent, compassionate, and energetic kid and I'm extremely lucky to have him as my mentee. 

As a Co-Chair I've had the privilege to see DREAM working from the outside, as well as be a mentor, and this has shown me how much effort and care all the DREAM mentors put in every week to give our mentees fun and valuable life experiences.  In the past year we've taken our kids to go ice skating, bowling, cross country skiing, visit museums, and explore corn mazes just to name a few. 

Fundraisers like these help us to fund our field trips and one-on-ones, as well as pay for things like snacks and craft supplies so we can continue to do weekly activities with the kids. 

Your donations go directly to helping us provide opportunities for exploration, fun, community, support, and growth to our DREAM mentees.
