Campaign to Gain 2023!

Hello friends,

I have the pleasure of fundraising for the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach. I am lucky to serve as their Volunteer Specialist, acting as a bridge between the community and our youths. 

This organization is so important because of the work we do. We are on the frontlines combating the repercussions the COVID-19 pandemic had on our younger generations academic and social abilities.

This cause is near and dear to my heart because I was a college student in the graduating class of 2020. Due to the pandemic, I was unable to finish my final semester on campus, nor was I able to have any graduation ceremonies. With this interruption in my education, and without that special day, I was devastated. My academic and social life came crashing down without any closure. I was left wondering if the last 4 years actually happened or if it was just a distant dream.

Luckily, by this time, I was already a young adult with the abilities to cope through this. However, countless younger people went through similar situations to this, 100 times over. When you are a child, every adventure and opportunity feels like the biggest and best day of your life. It is difficult to comprehend how devastating the isolation must have been for them. With every day they spent in lockdown, every canceled event, every moment away from friends, was the loss of a special day in their lives.  

The organization is here to help the youth rebuild their lives and recovered these lost opportunities. It is our job to ensure that, for youth, every day is a special day. 

For 70 years our club has been here to help the younger generations. Our funding goes towards curated programming designed to assist youth blossom into well-rounded adults. BGCLB remains on the cutting edge of youth development research to ensure the best practices when guiding our members. Regardless of their social or economic backgrounds, all are welcomed through our doors. This is not possible without the generosity from people like you.
