Only 2 More Days to Help May Dugan Center Help the Community

Update posted 5 years ago

The COVID-19 crisis is causing hardship for human service nonprofits.  May Dugan Center programs will endure a strain on services and a financial strain.    The need for food has increased during this pandemic.

The strain and uncertainty in housing, employment, and other areas of life have increased the need for behavioral health services. Case management requests for housing, utility assistance, and additional help the Cleveland Communitybasic needs are going up daily.  In the COVID-19 pandemic, many people, especially seniors, face the debilitating effects of isolation.

The May Dugan Center is an oasis of help for the near west-side community in Cleveland.  There are only two more days to help through the Rock Family Challenge. Please donate today to ensure that all the vital services May Dugan Center offers can continue to operate during this difficult time. Thank you for your generosity.

May Dugan Center stands with their clients who face poverty, social injustices, and racial inequities; their mission is to help people enrich and advance their lives and communities.

Funds from the #RockChallenge2020 will be used to support May Dugan Center's six core programs to ensure that people do not go hungry, mental illnesses do not go untreated, pregnant teens are supported to become caring parents to healthy babies, adults can access education and workforce development, and the voices of victims of crime are heard.

A May Dugan Story

May Dugan Center Seniors On The Move is a component of the Health & Wellness program. It was developed in response to community needs and serves low-income seniors residing in Cleveland’s Near West Side. Approximately 38% of city residents over age 60 live in or near poverty (below 150% of the poverty threshold).

In the COVID-19 pandemic, many seniors face the difficult debilitating effects of isolation. The goal of MDC’s Senior’s On The Move is to give low-income seniors the tools and resources to manage their financial, physical, and emotional well-being and deepen social connectedness to promote aging in place.

Thanks to your support, you will help keep seniors safe and healthy at home and so much more!
