Coco was found as a stray in Wiggins Mississippi and was admitted to the Stone County SPCA around April 20th 2018. She then made her way to the Southern Pines Animal Shelter in Hattiesburg, MS, before finally finding her way to Wisconsin in the beginning of June and was admitted to the Elmbrook Humane Society on June 5th, 2018.

On June 14th, we walked into the humane society, after having looked online at other dogs; with no idea she even there. But as we walked past her kennel, at first site, we knew she was the one. We completed the paperwork, and were ready to embark on our new and exciting life; or so we thought. Coco was terrified of getting in the car, and pulled out of her collar multiple times (running back to the door of the humane society), but after numerous escape attempts, multiple people helping, and many hot dogs and treats, we finally got her in the car.

Coco was very cautious, but very affectionate. She wanted to follow her new brother Brownie, and quickly learned what to do. She learned how to find the softest place to sleep, rides in the car were great, and they usually meant excitement. This was the start of a life full of adventures, and exploring.

Coco also learned how to be an expert beekeeper. Or should I say an expert honey consumer. Coco wants to help with every step of the process from checking on the bees, to bottling honey. She makes sure there is never a drop of honey wasted.

One of Coco's favorite past times during the summer, is to go camping. While she is camping, she likes to find branches that are too big for her, and to go fishing. She does not have a preference as to where. She will fish on shore, or in the boat.

During a normal week Coco has become a very hard worker, she is the lawn safety captain at home, taking these duties very seriously, making sure only the people and critters that should be in the yard are; and some days she even goes to work, and is quickly learning how to be a CNC operator. But still likes to play with toys, especially ones that squeak, and take many naps.

Coco has come a long way, traveling across the country before finding her forever home, and her love for snow. Once being afraid of the car, to loving the car. Being very nervous around people and other animals, to wanting to befriend them. But now, she wants to give back, and help other animals find their forever homes too. So they can also learn what it is to be loved, and be able to go on adventures, explore, and have the best life possible. So please, help Coco achieve her dream of being the Queen, as well as help other animals have the same opportunity she has had to find their own family.
