Quinn Dusty

Transplant Type: Kidney

What if you were living on borrowed time?

Quinn Dusty is awaiting a new lease on life. When he was only eight years old, Quinn was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). He received a kidney transplant in 2016, but he went into rejection in 2020. Now, doctors say a second kidney transplant is critical to his survival.  While awaiting his transplant, he endures regular dialysis treatments, which take a toll on his quality of life.

This has been a difficult time for Quinn as he is used to being much more independent and active. He is thankful for his family and friends. While he wishes they did not need to be so concerned about his health, Quinn is grateful for their love and support. He looks forward to his transplant that will allow him to feel like his old self again and go back to work, but right now, he needs your help.

Unfortunately, Quinn’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.

The average kidney transplant costs approximately $442,000. And that’s only the beginning. Even with health insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, he faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to his survival as the transplant itself.

Quinn lives more than 190 miles from the transplant center, and he incurs substantial expenses each time he visits for evaluations and doctors’ appointments. When he receives his transplant, Quinn and his caregiver will need to stay near the hospital, during recovery, adding to the financial strain.

You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Quinn.

If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Arkansas Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Quinn Dusty” in the memo line.

Thank you for your generosity!
