Partners of Parks is a non-profit organization that supports Long Beach Parks, Recreation, and Marine facilities and programs through strategic funding partnerships that benefit youth, seniors, and families in need.
Since May 2020, Partners of Parks has raised and distributed more than $75,000 of $50 grocery gift cards through the Donna Helsley Senior Food Fund to more than 1,500 seniors who would otherwise have gone hungry at the end of the month when their limited income was depleted. Several seniors in our community are on fixed incomes and with the rising cost of living, Partners in Parks intends to fill the gap.
Our current strategic plan is to focus on Senior health and wellness programs throughout the city. This includes refurbishing ALL of the seniors centers with new fitness equipment and creating a more accessible space. With new tools and resources, we are also hopeful to add to senior programming.
