100k for the 100

For over 20 years, the 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile, Inc. has been a beacon in the Mobile Community through Mentoring, Education, Health & Wellness, and Economic Development.  One of our greatest delights providing scholarships for young people to attend college.   Over the past 5 years, we have awarded scholarships in the amount of over $40,000 per year.   Last year we gave an alltime high of $52,000 in scholarships. 

Our scholars, hail from Mobile, Alabama,  attend the University of South Alabama, University of Alabama, Tuskegee University, University of Southern California, University of Southern Mississippi, Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Jackson State University, Southern University, Vanderbilt University, Auburn University, Bishop State Community College and many other colleges.     

In addition to our efforts to help young people go to college, we ensure that they are college and career ready through our weekly programs and partnerships with the Mobile County Public Schools.  We mentor high school and middle school students with their academics, professional decorum, ACT Preparation, interview skills, resume writing, and opportunities for exposure.
