For ten years, Todd valiantly fought cancer. He endured more than most could - from hundreds of tests, scans, and hospital stays; surgeries; chemotherapy;  immunotherapy; radiation; Cyber Knife and the replacement of his right elbow.  And through it all he was a warrior who was driven by fierce dedication, love and loyalty to his friends, family and the firearms community. His smile, wit, humor, generosity and skill will be greatly missed. While a cure could not be found in time to help Todd, he would have wanted the fight to continue.

With the federal government severely cutting the grant money earmarked for cancer research, hospitals and laboratories like those at Hopkins are in desperate need of support. We're not asking for money for ourselves. All of the money raised through this site goes to KCCure (Kidney Cancer Research Alliance) to help cancer patients of today and tomorrow.

Donations raised go to the research of Dr. Hans Hammers, MD, PhD, and other doctors working every day to combat and cure kidney cancer. You've probably already read some of his work, like Targeting tumor angiogenesis with histone deacetylase inhibitors and my personal favorite, Downregulation of homologous recombination DNA repair genes by HDAC inhibition in prostate cancer is mediated through the E2F1 transcription factor. While Dr. Hammers was treating Todd for kidney cancer, his research targets some of the fundamental properties of cancer. Thus, the work he and his peers are doing on chemo- and immuno-therapies have far reaching implications for anyone facing a cancer diagnosis.
