At Read Elementary, our staff have creative ideas that could help students discover new interests, feel included, and experience the joy of learning. Too often, bringing those ideas to life means paying for them out of their own pockets. With your help, we can change that.
Read is a Title I school, and there is no district funding available for this initiative. Our educators bring dedication and imagination to their classrooms every day, but opportunities to try something new are limited by resources. A promising idea should have a chance to grow without depending on what a staff member can personally afford.
That is why the Read Rocket Boosters are launching our first-ever Innovation Fund, with a goal of raising $5,000. Every dollar raised will go directly toward staff projects that benefit Read students.
The fund will support creative projects that strengthen student learning, inclusion, well-being, and the overall school experience. Individual staff members, teams, and grade levels can apply for grants ranging from small classroom purchases to larger collaborative projects that benefit multiple classrooms. Donations will help cover the materials, resources, and experiences needed to put their ideas into action.
Projects will be selected based on their potential impact on students, creativity, feasibility, and opportunities to share or reuse resources. Special consideration will go to projects supporting underserved students and areas of the school with fewer funding opportunities.
Staff are applying now, with applications due January 8. In mid-January, we will share the selected projects with our donors. Once projects are implemented, we will send updates showing what your generosity made possible and how students benefited.
Every gift matters, no matter how big or small. Together, our contributions can give an educator the resources to try a new approach and give students an opportunity they might otherwise miss.
Please help launch this first year of the Innovation Fund. Your gift supports our students and sends a powerful message to our staff: We believe in you, we value your ideas, and our community is behind you.
