It's my 50th birthday in 87 days. I'm raising $ for CPAF to mark this milestone.

$5,506

raised by 37 people

$5,000 goal

Hi friends and family,

I'm 50! 50 years old! and I like to kick! and s-t-r-e-t-c-h!

All of these things are true except I am not yet 50 but will be in 87 days. So I am an early bird in some ways, and a procrastinator in others.

I meant to start my fundraiser for CPAF on May 1 for Heritage Month, which would have been 100 days away from my milestone 50th birthday. Many of you know I am currently the interim Director of Development for CPAF, and will be finishing up this stint on June 30.

I want to close out my time at CPAF by doing an early birthday fundraiser and ask that you make a donation instead of buying me a gift. Maybe you weren't even thinking of buying me a gift, but you can still make a donation if you'd like. I love gifts though, and some of you have already given me gifts, which I really appreciate too.

Your donation will go to supporting CPAF's crisis intervention, prevention, shelter, hotline, community programs, AND the kickass staff (like me!) who are behind the scenes in finance, admin, development, communications, facilities, volunteer, etc.

My goal is to raise $5000 by May 31, and use the Give In May platform so I can put a picture of my cow collage for all of you to see. I thought maybe 50 of my friends would give $100 each so we could reach that goal. That's why I meant to start this on May 1. So if you can give $100 (50 years plus the next 50 years I intend to live), that would be great! If you want to give the entire $5000, that's great too!

But I didn't start this 100 days before, and want to give some other suggestions of amounts you might want to give:

1. Those of you who knew me in 1987 could give $87.

2. Those of you who, like Hoyt, appreciate the reality show 90 Day Fiance for showing stories about "immigration, expectations versus reality in romantic relationships and the myth of American exceptionalism" (from a recent episode of The Experiment podcast) could donate $90.

3. Those of you who further appreciate the reality show 90 Day Fiance and know what a Cameo from Asuelu costs could donate $80.

4. Those of you who know I appreciate puns and lounging could give $44.90--the price of the Chillbo Shwaggins air lounger--which I have already purchased and love and highly recommend. Those of you who are attorneys and would appreciate that Chillbo Shwaggins used to be called Chillbo Baggins until they were told to change it could donate the cost of 2 Chillbo Shwaggins loungers, or $89.80.

5. Those of you who know that 103 Canadian dollars equals 85 U.S. dollars could give $85 because that's how much an excellent massage at Smile Thai massage in Vancouver costs, and you would agree that it's absolutely worth it.

6. Those of you who know I love fried chicken and chili cheese fries could give $10, which could get you those menu items in most of the places I like to eat.

Really, any amount would be great and appreciated. I also need to kickstart the CPAF fundraising page because --yikes-- the only gift on here right now is the $100 I gave. . .

Thanks everybody!

Love, Rebecca
