Help this last until Labor Day!!

Update posted 3 years ago

If you can, please help us raise another $12,180 so that we can continue these special meals through Labor Day!  This would be a huge help to us. So, please help us if you can.

You can support 2 great causes at the same time!

First: feeding the homeless that are sheltering at HOPE/HOPE Hospitality and Warming Center.  Because of the pandemic, volunteers are not able to bring meals or visit with guests.  Therefore, the shelter MUST outsource meals to protect the shelter guests.

Second:  Pontiac restaurants have been hit harder than most other restaurants.  They have needed to cut back and have difficulty staying open.  This program gives these restaurants a little boost to their weekly business.  (Your carry-out orders will help a lot, too.)

COVID-19 has been tough on us all; but especially on small businesses, such as the local restaurants in Downtown Pontiac. Pontiac is a particularly vulnerable area.

To help ensure the survival of Pontiac restaurants, the Pontiac Restaurant Collaborative with HOPE rises to advocate for your support. Please help these organizations overcome the added challenges that come with the pandemic.

To help keep shelter guests engaged in the process of resolving their homelessness,  the Restaurant Collaborative gives guests a special occasion to look forward to... It makes a difference. PLEASE HELP.

When you donate to HOPE's fund designated to the Pontiac Restaurant Collaborative with HOPE, 100% of your donation supports both causes at the same time. When there is enough money in the fund to pay for a meal, HOPE orders meals from the next restaurant on the list to feed shelter guests.

These meals have an important impact on shelter guests. The pandemic has made it more challenging to stay engaged with a plan to resolve their homelessness. Special meals on the weekend help to keep people at the shelter and hopeful in their pursuit of a resolution to their homelessness. special weekend meals help to keep shelter guests engaged.  When guests stay engaged with the shelter, they will resolve their homelessness.  (Each year, more than 250 HOPE guests exit the shelter to a place they can call home – and keep as their home -- with around 5% recidivism.)

Together, we can make a powerful impact.

The following restaurants are part of this collaborative and we hope you will consider ordering your takeout meals, from them, too.

Goal to support restaurants while feeding at the shelter

Each dollar raised goes directly into meals. The average cost of a meal from these restaurants is $10. Each time there is enough money to buy enough meals, one of the restaurants will serve the meal.

The first $10,000 raised for the Pontiac Restaurant Collaborative with HOPE was matched by a generous donor who envisioned this project.  Tito's Handmade Vodka  was thrilled to sponsor this project with $10,000.

Thus far, more than 3,480 meals have been served by this project.  Already, more than $34,800 has been invested in local restaurants and in HOPE's shelter guests.  Please help this program to continue making this big impact on both causes.
