Richard Rose

Transplant Type:   Bone Marrow

What if you were living on borrowed time?

Richard Rose is fighting for his life. He was diagnosed with severe anemia, though doctors could not pinpoint a cause.  Two bone marrow biopsies and several tests later, it was found that he was suffering from chronic monomyelocytic leukemia (CMML). Doctors now say an allogenic bone marrow transplant is critical for his survival.

During this difficult time, Richard is grateful for the love and support of his fiancée, Elizabeth, their family, and friends. Before his health began to decline, Richard loved working as a truck driver and mechanic, traveling, and spending time with their children and grandchildren, but these days, his activities are quite limited. Richard looks forward to receiving his transplant his transplant and spending more time with his loved ones. He’s ready to feel like himself again, be able to resume his lifestyle, and marry the love of his life, Elizabeth, but right now, he needs your help.

Unfortunately, Richard’s new life comes at a very high price.

The average allogenic stem cell transplant costs more than $1 million, and that is only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant cost, Rich still faces significant expenses related to the procedure. Richard had to stop working due to his illness, adding to the financial strain.

You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Richard.

If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the National Foundation for Transplants, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125.  Please be sure to write "in honor of Richard Rose” in the memo line.

Thank you for your generosity!
