Extracurriculars

The Community Foundation estimates that one-third of Park City High School (PCHS) students are unable to fully commit to participation in extracurriculars due to cost or other barriers.

RISE Fund identifies the systemic challenges barring low-income students from extracurricular activities and cohesively addresses them. By eliminating financial barriers such as fees, travel and equipment costs, and other outlying factors, RISE Fund creates access for students whose families may not be able to afford the full cost of these programs. We envision a Park City where all high school students have the opportunity to be active and engaged in sports and clubs at PCHS. 

During the 2022-2023 school year, 91 students were funded (for a total of $56,882) through RISE Fund. Students participated in various teams, including mountain biking, soccer, football, track and field, dance, softball, and more.

• 94% of students feel happier overall after participating in their sport or club
• 89% made new friends while participating in their sport or club
• 72% feel a greater sense of belonging at school AND in the community
• 86% feel more confident after participating in their sport or club
• 72% said their sibling was inspired to join an extracurricular activity
