Parenting is hard. Really hard. And with kids who have emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges, it can seem impossible.
For these parents, life is an exhausting whirlwind of appointments with therapists and specialists who often leave them bewildered with conflicting advice. Add on the financial strain of treatments and it becomes even more obvious that something needs to be done.
The good news?
My friends Amy and Evelyn Guttman, devoted and experienced Occupational Therapists, are launching their non-profit, Hands On Parents, to be a source of support, education and empowerment to parents everywhere. It's their belief that educating parents and giving them the tools they need to work with their child is crucial to every child's outcome; and I couldn't agree more.
Here are some of the things they want to do:
1. The development of a website to serve as a guide for parents with the tools and resources they need.
2. Live virtual workshops and webinars to teach parents how to optimize their child’s development.
3. A discussion forum to let parents share tips, tools and resources that have helped them.
4. Outreach to parents who struggle with their children's behavior and functioning.
None of this can happen without significant financial resources and for that I am turning to you and asking for you help to turn this beautiful vision into a reality.
I am helping them reach their overall goal of raising $35,000 for this project. Won't you join me?
Help us empower parents to play the critical role they can in their children's health and donate today!
