Through daily activities and workshops at our Youth Center, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ+) young people ages 11 to 24 strengthen self-esteem, self-worth, and resiliency skills while taking part in favorite and new activities with their peers. The Youth Center also offers community resource referral and supportive services including food, clothing, and toiletries.

LGBTQ+ youth may feel unsafe in programs developed for the general youth population. one-n-ten welcomes LGBTQ+ youth and affirms self-identified gender identities and sexual orientations. We celebrate rather than neglect LGBTQ+ history and culture. By funding Youth Center programs, YOU help LGBTQ+ youth develop social and emotional skills to combat decades of homophobic and transphobic systems and messages at work, at school, and in public accommodations.

“My life would be completely different without this Discord server and one-n-ten as a whole. I have such amazing people in my life all because of one-n-ten having a well-moderated Discord server. I couldn’t have gotten where I am without you all.”

Fifty-two percent of the one-n-ten youth responding to our 2020 annual youth survey experienced homophobia or transphobia from the Arizona community at large, and 42% have biological family members that are not supportive of their LGBTQ+ identities. Our Youth Center provides mentoring, resource navigation, and daily workshops and activities for youth so that LGBTQ+ young people can build or strengthen their support networks and be affirmed in who they are.

In addition to providing self-esteem, self-worth, and resiliency programming, our Youth Center links young people to culturally competent healthcare providers and other community organizations. Many of these organizations occupy the same building as^ or make periodic on-site visits to* our Youth Center. Young people have access to:
